David Stephen to leave RBS

RBS has announced that Chief Risk Officer, David Stephen, is leaving to take up a new role outside the bank.

David joined RBS in 2010 and took up his current role in 2013.

Chief Executive Ross McEwan said:

“I’d like to thank David for his support as a key colleague on the bank’s leadership team. He has been Chief Risk Officer during a period of substantial change for the bank and the industry, during which we have made strong progress on our risk agenda. Our control environment has improved, our risk culture has been strengthened, and the Risk function is being transformed to match the bank we are becoming. We have an excellent Risk team doing a great job and we will now commence the search for the next Chief Risk Officer. We wish David well for the future. ”

David will remain in role as he serves his notice and while a replacement is identified.
