Skills and Opportunities Fund public vote now open
Top voted organisations will be awarded up to £35k from the second round of the 2017 Skills and Opportunities Fund.
30 October 2017
Voting for the second round of the 2017 Skills and Opportunities Fund is open until midday on Friday 10 November.
472 not-for-profit organisations across the UK and Republic of Ireland applied for a grant from the second round of the RBS Skills & Opportunities Fund; 101 are now in the running to receive a funding boost of up to £35k (€35k in the ROI).
For some of those shortlisted, funding will help to get a new project off the ground; for others it will help to extend or widen a previously tried and tested initiative. In all cases, a Skills & Opportunities Fund grant will help people in some of the most deprived communities help themselves, with improved financial skills and / or self-employment prospects.
Kirsty Britz, Director of Sustainable Banking at RBS, said: “We’ve helped 226 organisations through the Skills and Opportunities Fund, committing over £6m in grants. The impact of these projects, which are helping people to build new skills, get into work or start their own business, is fantastic.
“When these grants are accompanied by ongoing support, they can make a huge difference to people’s lives, while also helping to build stronger communities. I encourage everyone to vote for their favourite local project and help us to help even more people and communities across the UK & Ireland.”
