RBS wins at National Diversity Awards
RBS awarded with ‘Diverse Company’ at the National Diversity Awards.

Role models and charities were recognised for their commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion at the recent National Diversity Awards which took place at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
RBS won the ‘Diverse Company’ award, a category which recognises an organisation that employs a diverse workforce and is better able to understand the demographics of the marketplace it serves, as well as encourage people from under represented groups to further their careers.
In the past year RBS has made good progress towards its commitment to inclusion and diversity, including:
- Enabling employees to work from home or closer to home.
- Providing development opportunities for female talent and black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) colleagues.
- Supporting potential graduates, interns and apprentices from a range of social backgrounds.
- Launching an accessible credit card, and mobile banking app – these products were the first to be accredited by the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).
- Improving processes for transgender customers and colleagues.
- Educating managers to support mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Marjorie Strachan, Head of Inclusion at RBS, said: “The National Diversity Awards focus on the real difference that positive role models and organisations are making to the UK. We’re very proud to have won the Diverse Company Award; it shows that we’re making good progress towards creating a more inclusive bank for our colleagues and customers.”
