Entrepreneurs across the country come together for #godoacceler8 day

The #GoDoAcceler8 events, hosted by NatWest, Entrepreneurial Spark and KPMG, mark each entrepreneurs’ initial six months in one of Entrepreneurial Spark’s nine Hatcheries.

Entrepreneurs across the country came together this week to attend free NatWest and Entrepreneurial Spark #GoDoAcceler8 training events in eight UK cities. This was a day dedicated to developing entrepreneurial leadership skills and supporting business growth, followed by a celebration of success stories.

The #GoDoAcceler8 events, hosted by NatWest, Entrepreneurial Spark and KPMG, mark each entrepreneurs’ initial six months in one of Entrepreneurial Spark’s nine Hatcheries, with a prize of £10,000 awarded per each location (90,000 awarded in total).

The day provided inspiring training sessions on topics including personal effectiveness, business planning, entrepreneurial leadership and personal leadership planning. Entrepreneurs were also encouraged to build their network by meeting other Chiclets and pitching skills were put to the test with a number of entrepreneurs delivering 60 second pitches.

Jim Duffy, Chief Executive Officer at Entrepreneurial Spark said: “#GoDoAcceler8 is an exciting stage in the Entrepreneurial Spark programme. The progress we see is incredible and it’s hugely rewarding to watch entrepreneurs who joined us three months ago, often unable to clearly articulate their business idea, stand up and deliver a winning pitch. Our Chiclets have raised more than £45million in investment to date, and #GoDoAcceler8 is an important stage in each businesses’ growth as they look to scale up and build incredible businesses.”

Alison Rose, CEO of Commercial and Private Banking at NatWest, said: “Seeing how far the Chiclets have come in just three months, it will be really exciting to see how much they improve by the end of the programme. Events like #GoDoAcceler8 are what make Entrepreneurial Spark so unique and effective, and what ultimately helps establish successful businesses.”

Ben McDonald, head of KPMG Enterprise for London Region, added: “The #GoDoAcceler8 events are the first opportunity for Chiclets to really test their mettle and demonstrate the progress they have made since embarking on the Entrepreneurial Spark programme. Once again, we were not disappointed. The confidence, enthusiasm and sheer ‘GoDo’ attitude on show at these events up and down the country reinforces our belief that the future is extremely bright for these ambitious young businesses.”
