5 ways we’re supporting social enterprise

Non-profit community-based organisations do great work that makes a real difference, but it’s not always easy for them to get the financial support or business advice they need. Here are 5 of the ways we help.

Many social enterprises have benefitted directly or indirectly from RBS funding or support.

1. Lending to non-profits

Since 2012 we’ve approved loans worth a total of £7.4million to non-profit organisations, community finance providers, social enterprises, charities and cooperatives through our Social & Community Capital (SCC). In December 2014 we announced a further £10m investment, to help even more organisations get the capital they need to succeed and grow.

To learn more about the organisations we work with through SCC, or to apply for funding, visit our Inspiring Enterprise site.

2. Providing useful data

We’re the co-founder and lead sponsor of the RBS Social Enterprise 100 index. It provides in-depth research on the top UK social enterprises, providing market intelligence and a valuable benchmark for the sector. It also facilitates collaboration — last year 1,365 social enterprises had profiles on the website, allowing them to share ideas and advice.
