Purpose Built Student Accommodation sector “bubbling with opportunity”

Students accommodation is “bubbling with opportunity” according to experts at RBS’ annual Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) Conference.

RBS has supported the purpose built student accommodation sector for over 20 years.

The event, held on the 19th March, included over 100 industry advisers and influencers looking to discuss some of the key issues and review the performance of the sector over the past year.

David Willock, Senior Director, RBS Real Estate Finance Team opened the event.

He said: “RBS has supported the PBSA sector for over 20 years and remains committed to the sector. This is the fifth year we have run this event and it is great to see it going from strength to strength.”

Other speakers included Leah de Silva, Head of Fundraising and Partnerships at LandAid; Neil Parker, Director and Market Strategist at RBS; Michael Brodtman, Executive Director of Valuation and Advisory at CBRE Limited and Bret Lashley, Managing Director at Greystar European Holdings.

Michael Enright, CFO of Empiric Student Property plc, attended the event. He said: “The student accommodation sector is unique in that purpose built, quality accommodation is in such short supply. With increased confidence in the economy, there is a great feeling of optimism across the sector and it really is bubbling with opportunity.”
