The Banker recognised RBS’ success in helping clients manage risks in a complex global landscape while bringing together its securitisation, derivatives and repo financing capabilities.
The Banker magazine said: “Our judges were particularly impressed by the bank’s ability to bring together investment banking techniques, the latest online interfaces and a global network of investors to assist both corporate and financial institution clients with sometimes very granular daily business needs.”
Key factors in RBS securing the prestigious award are its ongoing support to European SMEs and retail lending through automated systems and establishing the first Derivative Product Company in 14 years
Scott Satriano, Head of EMEA Sales at RBS, told The Banker: “We have a structuring team, but we think of risk management more as a behaviour than as a team. It is not the case of one group of bankers having to negotiate services from other teams, the whole toolkit is always available.”
RBS was also highly commended in the syndicated loans and bonds categories of the awards.
