NatWest and RBS are extending the services personal and business customers can use through the Post Office from later this year, to include pay-ins of cash and cheques.

Customers can now do their every day banking in a total of 22,500 locations in the UK
- From later this year, NatWest and RBS personal and business customers can make deposits or pay in cheques at any of the Post Office’s 11,500 branches
- Customers can already withdraw cash, and check their balance
This means that RBS and NatWest customers will have 22,500 locations across the UK where they can carry out their every day banking - including branches, ATMs and Post Offices - as well as being able to bank online, by mobile or by telephone.
There are now more ways to bank with NatWest and RBS than ever before, where and when it is convenient for our customers. Research shows that ninety per cent of the UK population is within one mile of a Post Office, while ninety-nine percent of the UK population is within three miles.
Post Office currently handles around 11.5 million transactions (withdrawals and balance enquiries) and around £50 million cash withdrawals for NatWest and RBS customers in local communities.
UK Retail CEO Les Matheson said: “Our customers are changing the way they bank with us. They want to be able to do their everyday banking in a variety of different ways - where and when it is convenient for them. We’re delighted to be able to extend our service with the Post Office to give our customers more choice in how they do their banking with us”.
Nick Kennett, Director of Post Office Financial Services said: “We are delighted to extend the services offered to RBS and NatWest personal and business customers through the Post Office. With over 11,500 branches and longer opening hours we are making it easier for customers to conduct banking transactions at the same time as other service in their local Post Office.”
Services at the Post Office will be subject to our normal charges for business customers, where applicable.
