NatWest Intermediary Solutions offers Help to Buy mortgages

NatWest will be offering the Help to Buy mortgage guarantee scheme through its mortgage broker arm, Intermediary Solutions, from 14 January.

NatWest and RBS were among the first lenders to offer Help to Buy products to aspiring homebuyers when the scheme started in October 2013. The mortgage guarantee scheme enables borrowers to buy a pre-owned or new build property worth up to £600,000 with a 5% deposit.

The two banks have received 2484 applications for almost £380 million in lending for first and next homes in the three months since launch.

Of these, 1442 applications have been approved so far and 322 customers have completed and are set to move or have already moved into their new homes.

Lloyd Cochrane, Head of Home Lending for NatWest and RBS, said: "The response we've had to Help to Buy in such a short time has been very encouraging. We're delighted to be helping so many of our customers to achieve their aspirations and buy their first or next home and pleased that our products will very soon be offered to intermediaries".
