Property company sets up home in East London with help from RBS

A property maintenance company has bought a centralised call centre and operational facility in London with funding from Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate & Institutional Banking.

Axis Europe, a specialist in improving and maintaining residential, retail and commercial properties, has secured £4.2m from RBS CIB to buy a new office in Stratford, East London.

Established in 1986, Axis has experienced strong growth and now employs more than 500 people throughout the Midlands, East Anglia, London and Kent.  The business saw annual turnover increase 12% to the year ended 31 March 2013 to £89m, with profit after tax at £4.6m.

The move to Stratford, home to much of the 2012 Olympics, will see the business bring together existing Stratford and Basildon offices, allowing the business to focus on delivering further business growth.

John Hayes, CEO of Axis Europe, said: “The company has reached a size where we need to locate into new offices, and we’re delighted that Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate & Institutional Banking is supporting us at this critical time in the history of the business.  We hold very real ambitions of winning more projects, helping more people and clients and continuing to grow our team, all of which will be made more achievable by our new premises.”

Grahame Wells, relationship director, RBS CIB said: “Axis Europe is incredibly passionate about what they offer as a business.  The work they do in the various communities throughout the UK is evidence of the broader strength of Axis’ market philosophy and it is exciting news for the Stratford area that the business is increasing its presence in this dynamic part of London.”
