Sustainability Report 2011 launch

RBS is changing for the better.

18 April 2012

The launch of RBS' annual Sustainability Report is an important milestone - it allows us to demonstrate our commitment to being open and transparent whilst covering the issues our stakeholders tell us are important to them.

Some of the highlights from 2011

  • RBS was the biggest lender to renewables projects in the UK, lending more than double any other bank
  • We opened over 119,000 new business start-up accounts in the UK with two years free banking and Hotline support
  • We pro-actively contacted over 190,000 customers to equip them with the tools to help them gain better control of their finances
  • We supported 50,000 of our employees to volunteer in their local community
  • We provided more than 386,000 school pupils with accredited financial education through our MoneySense programme.

This year, all the Report contents can be found on the pages of our website, along with video, social media connections, and plenty of opportunity for people to comment.
