East Midlands Pharma expand in Old Dalby

The successful Keyworth and Old Dalby based business East Midlands Pharma Ltd have expanded their wholesale and distribution operation to meet the growing demands of their customers, with the ongoing help and support of NatWest.

East Midlands Pharma Ltd was founded by Lesley Abley and her husband, Kevan in 2005. Lesley drew on her biochemistry background and Kevan's management experience, gained in the aerospace industry. The company sources eyecare, skincare and pregnancy products from abroad, and supplies mainly to large retailers such as Boots, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's, which sell the products under their own brands.

Most recently the Company has achieved a ranking 2011 Fast Track 100 listing.

The success and growth of East Midlands Pharma Ltd saw them move into a 16,500 sq ft warehouse unit at Highcross' Old Dalby Business Park, Melton Mowbray in 2010, but they have now outgrown these premises. They have therefore expanded into the next door unit. They now operate from a 23,000 sq ft unit allowing them to further grow their customer base and their work force to 35 people.

Kevan Abley, Managing Director of East Midlands Pharma Ltd, said: "At East Midlands Pharma Ltd we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality, professional and accurate service possible. This pride and commitment has seen the business grow and grow. This in turn has meant we have needed to invest in a larger workspace. By additionally leasing the unit next door, we now have the space we need without disrupting our current operation which most importantly is convenient for our staff, the majority of whom live locally.

Kevan added: "I would like to thank everyone who has made the premises expansion and indeed the ongoing prosperity of East Midlands Pharma Ltd possible, especially our employees, the team at Highcross and our NatWest commercial manager Jane Pounder-Smith."

Jane Pounder-Smith, NatWest commercial manager, added: "This is a great and exciting move for the Company and I am delighted NatWest has been able to continue to support its ambitions. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone involved with East Midlands Pharma Ltd every success for the future."
