Group Chief Audit Executive
Prior to joining RBS in February 2012, Nicholas was International Director of Audit at Goldman Sachs, a position he held since 2008.
Prior to that, Nicholas had held a variety of financial and control roles since joining Goldman Sachs in 1993.
On moving to London in 2006, Nicholas worked in the Executive Office where he was responsible for the leadership of the firm’s MiFiD programme.
In 1999 and 2006, Nicholas worked in Hong Kong as Asia Controller before moving to Tokyo to Head the Operations, Finance and Services Divisions (real estate and security) for Japan and subsequently all of Asia.
Between 1998 and 1999, Nicholas was appointed Directeur Générale of a French bank based in Paris, which he had oversight of the support and control functions, during the period from acquisition to operational closure.
In 1992, Nicholas began his career with Goldman Sachs in Global Equities Product Control where he spent 5 years based in New York.
Nicholas started his career with Cooper & Lybrand in London where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 and in 1992 was offered the opportunity to move to New York as part of an exchange programme.
Nicholas attends the Board of Governors of Woldingham School. Nicholas and his wife Kathleen, have 2 children, Catherine and Elise, and live in Kenley.
