With over 23 years’ experience in Financial Services, Helen’s career spans specialist HR roles in reward, resourcing & shared services as well as business facing roles in Retail, Corporate & Investment Banking (Corporate Finance, Trading, Asset Management).
On leaving University Helen worked for a humanitarian organisation in the former Yugoslavia before joining Morgan Grenfell (later Deutsche Bank) on a Graduate programme. During her 6 years at Deutsche Bank she fulfilled a number of roles in the UK, France, US and Germany before moving to Morgan Stanley where she worked in Sales Trading and Research for the EMEA region.
Helen joined RBS in 2001 as HR Director for Group Functions and over the past 15 years has held a number of senior positions across the Bank including HR Director for Retail Direct & Head of HR for UK Retail Banking, Head of OE for RWU, HR Director Corporate Banking, HR Director Commercial & Private Banking and more recently HR Director for Corporate and Institutional Banking where she oversaw a substantial restructuring of the business, reducing CIB’s geographical footprint from 38 to 4 Countries. In early 2016 Helen took up her current role and has responsibility for Reward, Culture, Organisation Design, Talent, Inclusion, Senior Recruitment and People Strategy & Insight.
A Bachelor of Education (Hons) specialising in Geography from Cambridge University, Helen is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
