New research by JustGiving shows that RBS is one of the top five companies in the UK that raised the most for charity in 2010. Their research shows that last year, RBS employees raised over £437k through donations to the JustGiving website.

Fiona Cook, Group Community Investment Manager said:

"Being one of the top five companies who raised the most for charity in 2010 is an incredible achievement. Our employees are extremely passionate about their charity work and we are committed to supporting them as much as we can."

RBS have a number of different initiatives in place that supports employees to get involved in their community and build team work.

RBS supports its employees’ volunteering and fundraising efforts in their own time through a grant making scheme where RBS will provide an additional £250 to support their volunteering and fundraising efforts. The Group also offers a Payroll Giving scheme, where they match every pound employees pay to charity (up to £100 per month) which doubles the money the employee’s chosen charity.

RBS also allows its employees time out of office to take part in team building activities that also help the local community. Last year nearly 40,000 staff volunteered over 170,000 hours across a range of volunteering activities such as painting a local hospice to making over a local community space.
