Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) keeps the Bank Rate unchanged at 0.5%
Comment from Stephen Boyle, Head of RBS Group Economics:
"The MPC appears to have taken the monetary policymakers' version of the Hippocratic oath - to do no harm. With so much uncertainty surrounding the outlook for the economy and inflation, doing nothing - but keeping a watchful eye on the situation - is the least dangerous course of action. In fact, last month's MPC minutes noted that doing nothing is the best way of balancing risks."
