What are RSS feeds?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication (RSS) and it is an XML-based format for content distribution. We use RSS 2.0.

We offer several RSS feeds which you can subscribe to. Feeds are an easy way to receive the information you want, when you want it.

Our free feeds include headlines, summaries and links back to this site for the full article.

How are RSS feeds accessed?

You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from websites, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the website by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the "XML" orange button next to the feed.

You can use a web-based news reader. For example, My Yahoo! or My AOL users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page.

Reading RSS in a browser

Recent versions of most browsers, including Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome have an RSS reader built in. This means you don't need any additional software. The browsers mostly allow you to add a feed as a "Favourite".

What are the terms of use for RSS feeds?

We offer feeds as a free service to any individual user or non-profit organization, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Use will be for non-commercial purposes.
  • Use is limited to platforms in which a functional link is made available, allowing immediate display of the full article or video on the platform specified in the feed.
  • Use is accompanied by proper attribution to RBS as the source.
