Wei Ping’s story
"I was surprised by the work life balance opportunities my friend working at RBS experienced. Three years back when I joined RBS it was still a new start up with great opportunities to develop."
When Wei Ping joined RBS she managed four people, but within 2 years her team had grown quickly to nine people. She attributes her success to the independence she got to drive projects and lead initiatives.
"One of my greatest achievements in RBS was when I won the Silver Ovation Award in 2008 for creating awareness on operations within my division. My team also won the Gold Ovation award for increasing efficiency in number of issues faced by the division by 1/3rd in a span of 3 months. It was a very challenging business task and the team worked extra hours and on weekends to achieve this near to impossible job. But all the effort paid off when the entire team won the award".
She feels people at RBS are helpful and friendly. "Teams are very important in RBS - it's the place where you spend the most time and we emphasise a lot on teamwork. In fact that is the key thing that makes or breaks your success in RBS because you rely so much on your team-mates".
Working hard and playing hard are both important aspects of working with RBS. "With this attitude, we can get the most out of work and life".
