Pravin's story
For Pravin joining RBS IDC was like a dream come true. Having worked in IT consulting and product development companies across the US, UK and India, he wanted to align his career to a functional domain while still having an IT flavour to it. He also wanted to be based close to his roots and almost miraculously, one of the leading banks in the world decided to open a development centre in the Delhi region.
"The diversity of work I do for RBS IDC makes each day a new and exciting personal challenge and I wouldn't change it for anything. Some of the invaluable experiences I have had include running requirements workshops for very large and complex brand-new financial systems with the key global stakeholders within a week of joining my new role."
Hardly any two days are the same for Pravin, but what he enjoys most is working with diverse and talented people. The relationship that his team shares with users is very friendly and he feels it is a welcome change from some of the vendor-client experiences from the past. "Life at RBS is a very good mix of career growth, a balanced work life environment, great choice in how I can take my remuneration benefits and the "Make it happen" culture that makes sure we focus on getting the right result"
"Being a Program Manager within Risk Technology is a hybrid job that demands strong domain knowledge and excellent technical/design skills. Since my time here I've also improved my people management skills and how I interact with senior business stakeholders. Because of our flat structure where everyone's views are valued, this has been a great and unique experience for me,"" Pravin says.
