- RBS Group was mandated by the EU under the terms of its state aid to divest of Direct Line Group.
- We are required to sell the majority stake by end 2013 and divest fully by end 2014.
- We currently own 48.5% of Direct Line Group's issued ordinary share capital.

Direct Line and Direct Line for Business
Established in 1985, Direct Line became the first UK insurance company to use the telephone as its main channel of communication. Direct Line provides motor, home, travel and pet insurance cover direct to customers by phone or online.
Churchill
Founded in 1989, Churchill is now one of the UK’s leading providers of general insurance, offering car, breakdown, home, travel, pet, van and motorbike insurance over the phone or online. Many of the products are award-winning.
Privilege
Privilege Insurance launched in 1994 specialises in car insurance for safe drivers - particularly for those with four or more years’ no-claims discount. The company also offers a choice of home insurance products.
Green Flag
Breakdown heroes since 1971, Green Flag provides customers with rapid breakdown cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the UK and mainland Europe, with leading response times.
NIG
NIG, the commercial insurance business has competitive products aimed at small and medium sized businesses. It is one of the leading providers of business insurance in the UK. The company sells its policies through a network of more than 3,200 brokers.
Brand Partners
Brand Partners provides insurance products through several key partnerships. Core products are offered through the Prudential and RBS/NatWest partner brands. A number of smaller partnership arrangements are also maintained in both the UK and international businesses.
Tracker
TRACKER is the UK's biggest vehicle tracking and telematics operator, helping people across the UK with vehicle security.
International
Direct Line is the largest direct motor insurer in Italy and the third largest in Germany, the two largest motor insurance markets in Europe. Private motor insurance is sold through the Direct Line brand, and we have around 1.5 million in-force policies.
