Employee and Community Engagement
The Employee and community engagement programme makes a difference in the communities where our employees live and work. We want to encourage employees to get involved in order to help strengthen the communities we operate in.
We support our employees to do this in a number of ways:
- Our new UK employee volunteering programme was launched in 2010. We have partnered with nine charities in order to offer a wide range of volunteering activities and over 10,000 employees got involved with these in 2010.
- Community Cashback gives further support to employees who fundraise and volunteer in their own time. In 2010 we gave cash grants to 4,300 charities and community groups across the world and more than 39,500 employees were given time off to volunteer.
- Payroll Giving allows employees in the UK, Ireland, India and US to donate to the charity of their choice via their salary, we then build on the generosity of our staff by matching this donation.
- Community Stars is an employee recognition programme for those who achieved fantastic results for the good causes that matter most to them. Employees are given a chance to win a financial award for the charity they supported.
